Taking the West Coast Road out of Cape Town you will soon observe a change in vegetation. Hectares of wheat and grapes stretch as far as the eye can see.
You have reached the Swartland: an area rich in vines and one of the bread baskets of South Africa. It is here that one of the top Wineries in South Africa, Swartland Winery, is situated.
Established in 1948 this well known winery produces approximately 23 000 tons of grapes per year and exports around 70% of their product to more than 30 countries.
