The Brink family has been farming on the two farms De Gift and Panorama, near Riebeek West, for more than five decades.  In the year 2003 they decided to build their very own winery on the foothills of the beautiful Kasteelberg.  The winery was aptly named Pulpit Rock – referring to a rock formation resembling a pulpit on the slopes of the mountain.

The first vintage was produced in 2004 and the stylish wine tasting center of Pulpit Rock Winery opened its doors to the public in October 2004.

This state of the art cellar has an overall production capacity of 1 000 tons, with two barrel maturation cellars.  The grapes are selected meticulously and harvested full ripe to achieve optimum quality, including good structure and prominent fruit.   A combination of the latest equipment and traditional techniques are used to create world-class wines.

Pulpit Rock Winery is truly a family concern with family patriarch Ernst Brink the back-bone of the business, whilst his sons Van der Byl and Haumann see to the day-to-day running of the farms and cellar.  Their efforts are complimented by the winemaking skills of Jaco van der Merwe.

Magnificent views and personalised service adds to the truly unique experience in the stylish wine tasting centre.  Pulpit Rock winery also offers curious visitors informal tours in the pressing and maturing cellars.
